I had such a quintessential Queens weekend! (Also, I am awesome at alliteration. Holy moly, I just did it again.)
I got home on Wednesday afternoon and immediately ate a salt bagel:
The next day, Mom and I took a walk on Austin Street and then hit up the Queens Center Mall:
On Friday, I saw Take the Lead at Bay Terrace:
But the real Queens capper came on Saturday:
It was the largest Saturday-afternoon crowd at Shea ever! The upper deck was sold out and we had to sit in the back rows of the mezzanine, way, way out in right field...but I still got to do the wave, and that's what counts. (Unfortunately, the Mets snapped their seven-game winning streak by losing miserably to Milwaukee, 8-2.)
And then after, we waited patiently in traffic outside Flushing-Meadows Corona Park watching immigrants play soccer and volleyball...
...so that we could make our way to the Lemon Ice King of Corona!
I had cotton candy ices and they were delicious.
And of course, the whole weekend was punctuated by jogs through Forest Park and Forest Hills Gardens:
