"Congratulations! You have been selected as a Boston Marathon Volunteer. On Monday April 17th you will be supporting over 20,000 runners as they compete in the 110th running of the Boston Marathon."
Hooray! Originally I thought maybe I wouldn't go watch the marathon because it might make me regret not running it myself. But this is very exciting! I'm assigned to the "Finish Area Water Distribution Station" in Copley Square, so all day long I get to hand out water to exhausted and exhilirated runners. Plus, thanks to my job, I already have experience saying things like, "You did awesome!" and "Great job!"
Lastly and bestly, I have three words for you: Official. Marathon. Gear. Sure, it will say "volunteer" on it, but volunteering is what I do best!
