Only my roommate would want to celebrate defending her master's thesis by going to Friendly's.
"Look on the bright side," she consoles me. "Now that I'm leaving, you'll probably never have to go to a Friendly's again."
Fingers crossed! When I finish my master's degree, I think I'll go to Picola Venezia in the North End and eat lasagna. And then I'll go to Mike's Pastry and eat a chocolate covered chocolate mousse cannoli with chocolate chips.
Alas, contemplating the completion of my master's degree, as I spend this beautiful day in a basement lounge with no windows, is merely depressing. I tried listening to Beethoven to ease the oppressive drone of the lounge refrigerator, but I couldn't concentrate, so I've been taking breaks by reading the Television Without Pity forum reactions to last night's episode of Lost, because holy shit!
Yesterday I wrote 19 pages of my Play paper; today I have written -- paper check -- three and a half? I have also written 10 pages of my qual paper, but let's be honest, the vast majority of that was total bullshit.
Today I ordered this to wear on the Avon Walk. Stylish!
How many of the next eighty-one minutes will I waste before I have to leave for work? Closest guess without going over wins a shout-out in my next fanfic.

wait, why are you in a basement lounge? when i picture "rachel's day-to-day" i think of your sunny apartment, your car (do you still have that one?) and the tufts campus. no basement lounge. i'm intrigued. have i not been reading your blog carefully enough? where ARE you writing from?
anyway...you finish in december, right? i want to go out for italian TOO! (or friendly's, if the north end is all booked...ahahaha! ok, kidding, not for YOUR celebration. but yummm...)
Actually, I have a different car now! It's exactly like my old one, except it's old lady beige instead of green.
The basement lounge with no windows is where I hold my office hours. Today someone came for the first time all semester! (Their final is tomorrow.) It's always empty and dead silent and I can spread out all over, so I decided to do my homework there instead of at the library, where it is so freaking crowded lately because of finals.
Also: We got your postcard from Paris today! Yay!
oh, good! i think my mail here in broken. i ordered some books and they're not here yet, and your package never came! aw, well :(
