This month's Runner's World (thanks Caitlin!) had a "Life List": "...just a few of the things you must experience in your lifetime to fully appreciate the history -- and the quirky pleasures -- of our sport." One of the things was "Summit Heartbreak Hill," that (in)famous climb at the 20th mile of the Boston Marathon.
After five and a half years of living in Boston, this runner is about to leave, and I had never run Heartbreak Hill. So this morning I impulsively drove to Newton to do it.
It was totally worth it. Now I just have to get started on that 50 marathons in 50 states thing.
