I survived you

The building where I work is right next to a fancy restaurant called Sushi A-Go-Go. Every day, I pass by it multiple times. Yesterday, I went out for lunch at about 12:30. I ate my frozen yogurt and chocolate croissant in the outdoor seating area across the street, and then I returned to work at 1:00 PM, passing, as I always do, by Sushi A-Go-Go.

Then this morning I read the following in the "celebrity sightings" section of Gawker.com:

"Clay Aiken -- Broadway at W. 65th Street -- August 17, 2006 at 1 PM. I saw Clay Aiken at Sushi a Go Go at 65th and Broadway at 1 PM. The poor guy must have spent all his money because he must have gone to a Chop Shop for his last haircut. He was right in front of me with a tall blonde waiting to be seated."

How did I miss this? I will console myself with the knowledge that I may or may not have seen Tina Turner in Chelsea yesterday. Pro: She certainly looked a lot like Tina Turner, and after we walked past her, some girls behind me also started speculating that it might have been Tina Turner. Con: Tina Turner lives in Switzerland.
